Welcome to Shade Mtn Dolls
"A Ragdoll Breeder With Heart"
Shade Mtn Dolls is a small, TICA registered, Ragdoll Breeder based in rural Pennsylvania. We have been breeding Ragdolls since 2016, with a focus on healthy, well adjusted kittens. We strive to breed to the The International Cat Association's Ragdoll breed standard, adhering to the rules of our registry and registering all kittens. We ensure kittens are matched with the right families, educate new owners on the breed, plan accordingly to make the transition to their new home as stress free as possible and ensure these precious creatures get the love, care and attention they deserve. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like to know more about our Ragdolls or to reserve a kitten.
We invite you to visit our blog for updates on kittens, shows, and upcoming litters.

Passionate about Ragdolls

My name is Nicole and I am the owner and breeder behind Shade Mtn Dolls. Breeding Ragdolls a lifestyle choice that I enjoy greatly, it is a passion born out of my love for the breed. My days are spent caring physically, emotionally and mentally for my cats. Their well being is incredibly important to me and they are valuable members of our family.
The health of my cats is of the utmost importance to me. Our cats go through rigorous testing. They're DNA tested for 45+ genetic health traits, defects and diversity. I do not breed Ragdolls with genetic mutations that are life altering or threatening such as Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) or Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).
I provide them with nutritious meals, fresh running water and clean litterboxes. Their safety, their needs and their enrichment are in the forefront of my mind. They are loved, spoiled and respected.
I work tirelessly to provide healthy, happy and well adjusted kittens. They take over my life and my home. My family and I expose them from a very young age to common household sounds and situations. Such as, a running vacuum outside of their nursery at 2 weeks old, Disney movies at play in the nursery, as well as music throughout the day to desensitize them to noise. We have young children in our home often and our kittens have free roam to experience normal daily life.
When kittens are listed as "available" and we are taking deposits, I do my best to match kittens with the right, prospective, new owners. They are beautiful cats and even cuter when they are kittens, but their well being is my first priority. I work diligently to place kittens in forever homes that they will thrive in with their individual personalities.
There are no cages in our home, they have access to a catio for fresh air, they have several different scratching posts/pads with different textures and lots of toys. They love their Da Bird feather wands and they are played with often. I find and provide them with different enrichment activities to keep their minds stimulated.
Cats have been a constant in my life since I was a very young girl. I’ve spent years caring for them, rescuing them and nursing them back to health. I’ve traded sleep for bottle feeding orphaned kittens and cleaning their tiny backsides. I’ve spent hours on research. I’ve taken classes on genetics, colors/patterns, behavior and best husbandry practices. I try my best to stay up to date on new diseases and new available testing.
Our cats are registered with The International Cat Association (TICA) and Cat Fancier’s Association (CFA).
With all this said, I hope you understand how much of my heart goes into each of my cats’ lives. They are such a blessing and I’m so very thankful for them.
